I am a veteran educator and structured literacy specialist based in the Northwest Bronx who provides premier tutoring and educational advocacy for children who are facing challenges learning to read, write and spell.I offer individualized instruction in critical areas such as phonological awareness, phonics, spelling, and handwriting, focusing on helping children "crack the code" of the English language.I build strong relationships with children and families that are centered in joy and connection. My philosophy is strengths-based, aiming to build student confidence and self-efficacy while addressing early literacy deficits.

I assess and target pre-reading and early literacy skills, particularly phonological and phonics knowledge, which are often at the root cause of reading struggles. I help students—particularly those at risk for dyslexia—connect speech sounds and written symbols.

I provide explicit instruction in spelling, which simultaneously strengthens reading abilities. Focusing on handwriting skills ensures efficient letter formation, which frees up a student's working memory so they can focus on their ideas rather than the mechanics of writing.

I have a proven track record of supporting diverse learners to read with accuracy and write with precision. With compassionate interventions, I support students with a variety of learning profiles to leverage and extend their full linguistic and neurological repertories.
